Facebook User Privacy Settlement

I got an email stating I haven't claimed my settlement money that is due me. There is a link to click on where you get a virtual gift card. I'm wondering if anyone else got this, is it a scam or on the up and up?

@Jordan2  ... I haven't received one but I would think it is a scam.   I would not click on the link.   Go directly to FaceBook to see if there is any truth to it.

Re: Facebook User Privacy Settlement

Didn't you have to file a claim a few years ago to be part of the settlement?

I did and my Venmo was for $42.  Go directly to the website.  Hopefully yours looks like this.  If not, I'm not sure what to tell you.  Good luck

Re: Facebook User Privacy Settlement

Did you file a claim back in 2023?

  • Deadlines Passed: The final deadline to submit a claim form was August 25, 2023. You cannot sign up for new payments now.
  • Watch for Scams: If you receive texts or emails asking for administrative fees, Social Security numbers, or personal identification documents, it is a scam. Official administrators will never ask for these details.

@MorningLover @I did file a claim and believe I got a payment. Do you think this is an additional payment?

Google

Yes, you will get a second round of the Facebook privacy settlement payment if you successfully cashed or deposited your first check.

Second Payment Details

  • Expected Amount: The second payout is smaller than the first one, usually ranging between $5 and $7.
  • Timeline: The second wave of payments began rolling out on June 9, 2026, and continued in batches over four weeks.
  • Notification: You should have received an email notice three to four days before your second payment was issued.
  • Action Required: No action is needed if you already cashed your first payment. The money comes from uncashed funds left over from the first round.

Important Rules

  • First Check Required: If you never cashed your original check from 2025, you do not qualify for this second distribution.
  • New Claims: It is no longer possible to file a new claim or join the settlement.
