Re: Facebook Class Action Settlement

I haven't filed a claim yet, I'm not sure I will. How much money are we talking about, I bet it's not much?

Re: Facebook Class Action Settlement

I don't know if I'll file or not. My husband and a friend both think it's a scam, even though it seems to be legitimate. If not actually a scam, they think that there will be very little money going out. Lawyers are the ones getting the profits.

Also, I've read that anyone who files could be put on list for all kinds of ads and more subject to scammers. I don't know it that's true or a conspiracy theory.

@Jordan2,  I heard a report on this on News Nation this morning.  They are guesstimating about $35 but it solely depends on the final number of claimants.

Okay, so I did file a claim. I opted for the virtual Mastercard payment. Whatever I receive, I'll probably spend it online at Sephora or Amazon.

I am not on Facebook. So I obviously don't qualify. I am no where but I prefer my privacy. Everybody I know usually has one.
I will go on to Twitter but I just read what's up.
If it's for real and they are gathering your information then get the money. They had to find evidence of wrong doing or they
wouldn't settled the deal.

We know some techies who think it might not be legit.  For only a $35 payout, neither DH or I are going to risk our security by filling out a claim form.

I kind of feel like you're not giving them any information they don't already have.

You can ask for a paper check and you’re just affirming you have a FB account, your account name, that you had the account during the time period in question, name and address.

Hardly highly private info. 😁

I thought that paper checks were not safe, that they might get lost or stolen. Maybe it's not the best idea to request a check.  One can also request the money to go into Paypal, Zelle or Venmo. That could be a better option.

@chrystaltree ........This particular one is NOT a scam.  However, there are many scams out there it pays to research each one.
