At the end of January I sent to urgent care (approx. 100 miles round trip) on a Saturday due to severe sciatic pain. Even though I was in extreme pain, I did not feel that it was life threatening - so I did not go to the ER.

I paid my co-pay per my insurance (Blue Cross/Blue Shield), got seen for no more than 10 minutes after more than a three hour wait. Too my prescription and went home.

Imagine my surprise the other day when I get a bill from urgent care for almost $400.00 because my insurance declined the claim stating that it was not an emergency, so it did not qualify.

Have you ever heard anything so crazy and ridiculous? Really! Seriously!!!! I though urgent care was for non-ER emergencies when you couldn't get into your regular doctor...

I am fightening this and will not let it go.

Have any of you ever experienced such a thing?
