@kaydee50 I think you need to get on with your life by the time you are in college and if it takes you longer because you have to work and go to school, it just adds to your experience and maturity for having a life. And that's from a couple who took about 10 years to pay off the loans.

Nothing's free. We all pay for that. I've never had children and I don't think it's fair that I have to pay any school tax or at least get a senior discount of some kind. I've been out of school for over 50 years.

Harvard has the largest endowment among all higher education institutions:  over  $53 Billion.

The annual income thrown off alone could cover tuition and expenses for every student quite readily.   And that's without even touching the corpus.  It's Harvard's money, not mine.  They can do what they choose.  Nothing to do whatsoever with taxpayer funding.

@catter70   You are so right that nothing is free.  Whether we

are talking education or shipping charges or outright theft, free means someone else pays.  The expense does not go away.

Harvard is filthy rich, NO TAXPAYERS will be paying for any free tuition there.

Expected response here, but where's the outrage about low and middle income taxpayers paying for tax breaks for the rich?

You're talking about public schools, Harvard is a private institution.

The acceptance rate for a non-legacy student hovers around 2%. Legacy students are those who already come from wealthy families so this won't impact them.

As someone else said, this does not include living expenses.  Because housing in general has skyrocketed by the time you include everything like room and board it's still around $25k per year.

Free or not, I wouldn't want any of my family members going there.
