I hate it!!  There I said it...it takes forever to receive anything.  I wish we could have a choice like before.  You can count on on extra 4 to 5 days to recive your order from them.  Its awful.

My experience with this service, as well as the UPS counterpart, has been that it travels to the destination city in the same exact amount of time that it would otherwise take by ground, then it goes to the appropriate post office and is delivered  by USPS the very next day.

So, it just adds one more day to the delivery time but I guess it's a deal the carriers strike between them that makes it much less expensive of a shipping choice.

Guess I have been lucky and recieved my items on time.  Plus I do like that they are delivered to my back porch and not left on my front porch steps.

I don't find FedEx smartpost to be any faster or not than UPS shipping to my local post office for deliveries.  As long as I get my stuff in a reasonible amt of time, I guess I don't really care who drops it off.

I will say I'm glad I'm home now every day so I can be watching for my goodies so I can grab them off my porch before a stranger does.

I find that smartpost adds one day to my packages.  They actually come quicker if it's a Saturday delivery.

The UPS trucks that I've seen in my neighborhood are packed to the roof....even a "hoarder" would cringe.    The delivery guys park in the middle of the block......and literally DIG through the truck to retrieve packages, and then "walk" them to the houses.

I really cringed when I moved from the big city to a complete rural area recently. But I haven't had any delivery problems yet. My Smartpost deliveries only take a day longer. But, remarkably I receive my packages at record speed! Woman Happy

Re: FED EX SMARTPOST

[ Edited ]

Last week I had a delivery from a guy who was working out of a large budget rental truck.  He had a milk crate type box on wheels and was walking the neighborhood filled with stuff he was delivering.  He was in street clothes.

Friday I saw my mailman who had just stopped in one part of my neighborhood, opened the back of his vehicle and packages literally fell out to the street.
