Do you know who this is?  I did not, although of course I've heard of him.

This is from a fantastic account on Twitter,  J & L Historical.   It seems to me to be mostly military history, but some musical and film history too.

The pictures say so much.  These are the creme de la creme, wonderful Americans putting it on the line.

@just bee ,  the photos there make the events of World War II so immediate, and touching.

@JYWilliams ,  thank you so much for your service.

@Desertdi ,  wow, your cousin's sacrifice is a reminder that there are American soldiers buried all over Europe-- and the Pacific too.

Re: FACES FROM THE PAST

[ Edited ]

My late dad was a common foot soldier in WWll.

I know they were all heroes for what they lived through.

Gotta be proud of the USA for producing such guys.

Thank you for the great photos showing those who fought for our freedom in WWII.  I am thankful there are pictures of these brave men and women.  They are part of history and honored for their sacrifice to their country.

@Cakers3 ,   that is a potent quote about veterans!  I had never quite heard it put that way.  How true!

@Puzzle Piece  and @spiderw ,   agree with both of your sentiments--  both proud, and thankful.

@Oznell  I couldn't find the author but there may be other versions. It really makes one stop and realize on yet another level how much is given and so little is expected in return.🇺🇸
