@BalletBabe @The only thing I wish would change about her testifying is that I want more questions and answers about how FB and Instagram is used when dealing with adults. I don't want the issues with children to overshadow revelations about the other disclosures about FB.

@Kachina624 @She resigned on her own. She was hired to head up a group of seven that were overseeing what was called "civic responsibility." FB disbanded the CR group and allowed the seven to move to other positions. Some left, some decided to stay and move elsewhere in the company. She was bothered by what she was learning. She had moved back home with her mom, an Episcopal Priest, due to the pandemic. She asked her mom what she should do about her growing concerns. Her mom told her to go with her conscience, so she did. Prior to her stint at FB she had jobs at other major internet social media companies, eq., Pinterest. She had made copies of documents. She went to The Washington Post and turned the documents over to Congress. She did so under the Whistleblower's Act. This appears to have been done in the public interest, however, If my understanding is correct, a person can collect monies under the WB Act under certain circumstances.

She pulled all those documents from the Company and I just read that it was someone at FB that actually brought down all those sites yesterday....still not sure the motivation behind it yet.

What I've been reading is that she's an activist and 'whistle blower' is a cover. The motivation behind this stunt is to advance censorship of Freedom of Speech.

I have never had any desire to be on Facebook. A few friends tried to talk me into joining but I didn't and I have absolutely no regrets. Long before the whistleblower I had bad feelings about the leadership and over the years he has only reinforced those feelings. He needs to be held accountable and clean up his act. Greed .

For all those who go on Facebook to connect with family and friends, I do not include you in my opinion of Facebook. Unfortunately when you have these types of media, it attracts negative and bad people and situations. Everything seems to have a downside.

I am not afraid of it either. I agree totally with your sentiments. If we knew what most of the big companies we use every day were doing most of us would be appalled.

I totally agree with you. I don't begrudge anyone from having wealth. However, to get all that wealth these filthy rich people do it at the expense of stepping on many people as they climb the ladder. Ruthlessness and greed motivate.

She is absolutely correct , if you google any information on any subject for what ever reason , you'll start getting ads on your Facebook page pertaining to what you were looking at . I know for a fact , l have issues with diarrhea from time to time and was diagnosed with microscopic colitis , so I googled for information and suddenly started getting daily ads or information about colitis on my Facebook page . I was puzzled at first , and looked at the information , it was ok , but always directed me to a specific drug . I don't know how Facebook knows what you google , doesn't seem right . But I can see how people looking for information about diet or any other personal issues , they will send you the information and ads.

It is no coincidence that the whistleblower was on 60 Minutes Sunday, Facebook and its sister social media platforms were down most of the day Monday and the whistleblower is testifying today.

This was Zuckerberg's way of thumbing his nose saying "I know you can't live without it".

@Mindy D I agree with you. I am very involved in Social media and I have to say not only Face Book, but You Tube is bad news for the kids.

It seems to me that we are losing freedom of speech and that is not good. I think Social Media can be a good thing, but it has taken over a lot of people's lives. THe thing with these boards is that it was a safe place for all of us. We won't have that on Face Book. I would like to see more businesses pull away from Face Book rather then go there.
