A great uncle retired from McDonnell Douglas, and had the retirement benefit of being able to fly free or at reduced rates.  He absolutely refused to fly anywhere and was quite verbal about his safety concerns.  He lived in CA but came back to WV twice in his later years and rode a Greyhound bus both times!

When I met my husband, he was a part time student and worked as an airplane assembler at McDonnell Douglas.  Oh, the stories he would tell...@RedTop 😜

There aren't any perfect items or anything built or made by mankind.  It is a fact of life.  Airplanes are no exception.  

 

Someone mentioned greedy airline companies - it's the stockholders that demand, demand.  The airlines have to provide.
