Expression: “Hook it” “hoof it” or “book it?”

I have heard this expression said in these three ways.

Do you know which is correct?

@LTT1  If you mean an expression of "get a move on" LOL,  I have heard "hoof it" and "book it".  Never "hook it", except maybe  in fishing circles HA!

Me too for hoof it.

Book it, to me, means agreeing to something like a reservation or a plane ticket.  Just plain "booking" means to hurry up.

Hook it--Never heard this one.

Hook it is used in a s*xual way.

Hoof it usually meant to go on foot while book it usually meant to go quickly.

"We had to hoof it when the car broke down."

"Book it-the principal is coming!! (in trying not get caught doing something out of line)

Book it has also been used to speed away in a car.  "He booked it right out of the parking lot".

These are my experiences with these terms, fyi.  jmoymmv
