Terrier- If it were my daughter, I'd wouldn't pressure her to find another job. She spent a lot of time and energy finding this one. Since there's no emergency, I would suggest giving her plenty of time to develop confidence and also encourage her to take some classes to keep current and sharp in her field of interest.

Reporting this will definitely result in her job loss, but you can check the regs for your state online.........

Bathina -
I agree with the part about staying current with her field of interest. In fact, I suggested she use her graphics skills to create t-shirts or posters for non-profits...experience combined with helping others.
But fast food jobs aren't meant to be permanent. In fact, they encourage workers to leave. The more raises they get (and they usually get them at regular intervals) the faster they want people to leave. They often give them distasteful jobs just to get them out the door!
They can always (sadly) find some one to start at lower pay.

I (sadly) agree with you there....but instead of firing her, they will give her bad shifts and unpleasant jobs...like this one cleaning blood in the men's room!
That is why I hope she is still looking for another job. It's always easier to get a job when you HAVE a job!

Oddly that seems to be true about finding a better opportunity when you are already employed. I guess the thinking there is that someone is paying you to do something, so you are a more attractive prospect. The reason why I would recommend not reporting is even if you think it's confidential, they will know the source as soon as an inspection occurs....

Here's the way I look at it.....are there any "bad" shifts for a young single woman with no children? Someone has to do unpleasant jobs, and if it's part of working in the store, it's not a big deal.
But................I totally see where you're going and now agree, it's a good idea for OPs daughter to start looking at what else is out there. You are so right about easier to get a job when you already have one.

Bad shifts are when you work until 11PM and have to come back at 8AM (for no good reason). Or get cut to one shift a week when you used to get 3 or 4 shifts. Or have to work nights when they know you depend on public transportation and buses aren't running & you'll have to take taxis (which cost almost as much as what a worker makes on a shift).
Fast food and big box stores have LOTS of ways to harass workers and get them to leave.
Which is why I suggest she look for another, more convenient job closer to home. Fast food workers move from place to place all the time...there is no stigma in looking for a more convenient job in that industry.

Wow...thank you...
Did you know it's my birthday?
I'm waiting for my son to take me to Dinosaur BBQ.
He just got a production job he needs to edit...and I got a school board client I have to get on the air STA...so it will be a late lunch.
Probably why I'm so ""funny"" today!
