for me, nothing can replace actual books. unfortunately, many these days get their history lessons via internet blogs or via opinion pieces.

my background in middle eastern studies comes from years of study. it's not something that can be learned overnight or understood without knowing the history of the region.

The videos were not intended to be a Masters Degree course on Middle Eastern History etc. They were intended as bare bones explanations for some very confusing names etc.
