Re: Exhausted with the coverage, even with "mute" on

There are many channels not showing the flight mishap.........but I like hearing and watching..one I love planes........second it is crazy what happened and I don't know if we will ever know.........just when I felt comfortable flying soon.........ugh. Also why was the control tower not paying attention? They did not know until the next day some information and had they been watching and doing their job they would have seen the plane having issues.

I watch CNN a few hours a day. The repeat programming doesn't bother me as I think most veiwers watch 30 minutes or less, and thus the repeat of a repeat of a breaking new repeat.

Re: Exhausted with the coverage, even with "mute" on

We got 8" of snow overnight and our local Channel 9 pre-empted CBS broadcasting until 12:30 this afternoon. The last big snow (a few weeks ago) they were on from 4 a.m. until 7 p.m. (pre-empting all day broadcasting). We got 20", D.C. got about 10", they made it sound like a Snowmaggedon! I don't watch the Cable/Satellite channels (CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc.) - if I want news updates, I check out online feeds.

I hear ya, Ford. What happened to the days when "breaking news" was really something to pause and take notice of?

Re: Exhausted with the coverage, even with "mute" on

I very much want to know what happened but I can't take the constant watching any more either.

The news channels and internet sources DO milk everything to the max. They have to have something to fill that 24/7 schedule....

I was watching & listening constantly but ITA at this point the officials keep contradicting themselves & there's no real new facts. So sad for the families of passengers.

Re: Exhausted with the coverage, even with "mute" on

Now I know what a transponder is for sure. I have been watching a lot, too, but have cut way back. I am beginning to think one of the pilots crashed the plane for some crazy reason. I just can not imagine the terror the passengers endured. Those kinds of thoughts really weigh on my mind. It took me a long time to stop thinking about the passengers and crew of the 9-11 planes.

Re: Exhausted with the coverage, even with "mute" on

All I keep thinking about is this sounds like the plot of the movie Airport 77. Pilots purposely fly under the radar to steal art. Plan was to land the plane on an island and take off in another jet. The passengers were knocked out with a gas in the air system. Plane flew too low and hit a tower ended up in the ocean. I'm hoping we can get facts soon for the friends and families.

It will be an awful thing if they find the pilots are to blame. People that fly are going to be very scared not knowing if their pilot is stable or not. This world is getting so evil.
