a serbian film disturbed me a great deal.

^^ is the title.

That one was way out of my comfort zone. My style is Clockwork Orange and Eraserhead. That's as intense as I can handle

Noah was disturbing to me. And not because they took artistic freedom with the story.

Oh, gosh, yes. We were at our annual Memorial Day weekend celebration at the home of friends: adults and kids and everyone having such great fun.

Then in the late afternoon, the host announced that we'd all be watching a movie in their large family room. So we all sat down and on screen comes "Silence of the Lambs." OMG! I took myself and DD out of the room and back out to the pool.

Are we such a society of degenerates that we must watch and thrive on such horror?

I have never watched, nor will watch, Silence of the Lambs. Not my type of movie. But is it appropriate for children to watch? Also, I would never watch something like with a group of friends and family unless you know everyone enjoys that type of film. Very odd choice if you ask me, and do find it disturbing that the hosts thought it was acceptable.

Re: Ever watch a terribly disturbing movie...

As a child I remember having nightmares from The Blob and The Birds movies. In my teens, I watched Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte and had nightmares from the head rolling down the staircase. Those 3 movies apparently set the tone for me early on, as I have NEVER had a desire to watch any kind of scairy movies; which includes anything vampire or zombie related. Actually, I am not a big fan of movies, period. I have a very short attention span and do better with sitcoms or reality shows. I have been known to start watching a movie, leave the room to get a drink or snack, and either not go back to the TV, or go back and flip the channel as if I'd never started watching anything.

Re: Ever watch a terribly disturbing movie...

I watch a lot of true crime and serial killer stuff. I enjoy it. I even turn on a true crime show when I go to bed, set the timer, relax and watch. They don't bother me.

The only kind of stuff that freaks me out is devil stuff. I know it's a fictional character and all, but it's just toooo freaky for me.

Oh, and PS: I'm not a degenerate.
