@CLEM wrote:@Marp That tiny little kitty sure is causing a lot of waves of concern. Let's hope all will go well the natural way.
But how will she get fed from now on? I guess someone will figure something out.
Thanks for keeping us updated.
@CLEM, Shelly will continue trying to get Aura to eat on her own, either kibble or gushy food. If she is not taking in enough I suspect the next step would be very, very carefully administered syringe feedings. A last resort would be an implanted feeding tube.
Whatever it is a way will be found.

Am pulling for our precious little Aura - according to last PSA on chat, she is on her way for another x-ray to see if the tube has moved. She is getting the very best care possible and being watched closely.
However, I admit it, my pearls are being clutched. That's a long piece of tubing, but it is flexible, so hoping it can just slide it's way out. Hoping for the best.

Shelly back at about 9:28 KT with a report. Aura is going to have a procedure by a endoscopy specialist, under anesthesia, to try to remove the tube. It has not moved and is partly in her esophagus and partly in her stomach. Anesthesia is risky but if the endoscopy works it will be fast and better than surgical removal.
Too much information for me to capture but it is a good news/bad news (anesthesia) situation. The proedure will be done around 1:30 KT.

Please send your love to Aura this afternoon as she heads to Mountain View Veterinary Hospital for an endoscopic procedure to try to remove the 4.5 inches of feeding tube she bit off and swallowed last night. X-rays taken this morning show the tube is not passing through as we had hoped, so this procedure is the least invasive and least risky way to remove it before it can cause complications.
Although this is our lowest risk option at this point, it is not without risk. The biggest risk for her will be anesthesia, because she is so little. Dr. F was able to arrange for a vet who specializes in endoscopic procedures to come to the clinic to help Aura today. He has done this exact thing before, and is hopeful it will only take a few minutes if all goes well.
I will keep you posted. Thank you all so incredibly much for your support, we all really appreciate it during times like these.

Behold the glorious moment Dr. Gorodetsky of BC Mobile Animal Endoscopy successfully removed 4.5" of feeding tube from teeny tiny Aura's stomach!
We are SO relieved, and so grateful to have such amazingly talented vets like Dr. Gorodetsky and the team at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital helping us with our many "special" cases... <3
Aura is awake and recovering well. WHEW! More to follow.
I will post some photos at TinyTapeworms for those brave enough to see a little more.

@Marp...Thanks so much for the wonderful news and updates!....I watched the video that was posted of the procedure and loved how Dr. G. and Dr. F. high-fived each other after the tubing was removed...such wonderful caring and dedicated Drs.!...Also, did you hear Shelly in the back ground?...At that moment, you could hear her taking in a deep breath and then a very relieved and excited "Yes"!!!!...
I'm sure Shelly will be getting a much better night's sleep tonight, although I have no doubt she will have one eye open overlooking little precious Aura.
Whew!

@Marp Thanks so much for all the updates and the great news.
Looking at that operating table, it's hard to believe that there is a tiny patient we can't see. Amazing what they can do.
