Too Funny....I'm actually wanting to get a water bottle but don't want to pay a fortune for one and don't want a cheaply made thing either. No one has ever offered me one at work....or any event.
I get what you're saying though. We go to a couple of local parades every year and some organization (usually politicians) is always handing out cheap combs, pencils, pens, etc. and I go home and throw them all away.

If they were quality it would be different story. This spring our chamber if commerce sponsored a run and a bottle made in China and keychain were given in bag. I politely suggested that this was a waste of merchsnts' money.
As a person who hates junk, I totally agree.

I normally choose not to take the giveaways if I have no use for them. Just more “stuff” to get rid of.
When I discovered Yeti products I admit to throwing all the junk water bottles in the garbage. I have a large tumbler that travels with me in the car, one that stays home for daily use and one because it has the logo of my grandsons University.
They will last forever but are recyclable.

Supposedly the water bottles are reusable and are preferable to the disposable ones who are emptied once and then thrown away. I don't think I have ever tossed a water bottle into the trash, always into the recycle bin, so they do t ever go to the landfill. I am not the least bit offended by them; I fill backpacks for the homeless in our city each Christmas; I usually try and get stainless steel water bottles but also use plastic ones if they are thick enough and they will keep drinks hot or cold longer, and the reusable water bottle is high on the list of things most would like to have. Maybe donate them to a shelter if you have no use for them.

we also have a number of groups in our area taking reusable water bottles and other items for battered women shelters, the homeless, and refugees that relocate to our area from countries where they had to leave everything behind. i have even given some to the guys that come and take care of our grass and landscaping. it isnt difficult to find places or organizations who will accept them and pass them along to those in need.

I seem to get a lot of event premium bags...I usually keep what I can use and donate the rest. Am so glad water bottles are popular now since they are useful. I recall when neon-colored fanny packs were the rage....water bottle is huge improvement.

I don't think she means regular water bottles like found in the grocery store but rather cheaply made insulated reusable bottles with the company logo. @Twins Mom You have a valid point.
That's entirely possible, but I was at Target last week and they were giving out single use bottles of water to celebrate the store's anniversary at that location. I took the term "water bottle" at face value.

Good point about groups that could use them and I will pursue researching. There is a use for them if groups accept. Thanks for idea
