As the sun was setting, we looked out the window for a last glimpse of any animals. I asked my husband if I was seeing elk. He replied there were horses on the field. We realized they were both there. This is very rare to see them sharing a space.

I cropped the photo so you could see the animals in more detail. Zoom into the area in the vicinity of the football goal posts. They are merged there. Most of the horses are dark. The elk are lighter. Most of the horses are on the left. The elk are on the right.

It's so heart warming to see these two species together, in harmony.

Re: Elk? Horses? Both!

@Kachina624 They are not using it for soccer at the moment. However, a Village event is scheduled for Saturday. They are having a Christmas movie and a drone show in the entire park. Hope no one planned to sit outside on the soccer field. Probably not. The high Saturday will be 34 dropping to 18. When the sun goes behind the mountain the temperature drops like a rock.

Both species are herbivores so it's not surprising that they are chowing down close to one another.
