Gave my Ninja away. Much too heavy to be safe for older cooks. Now I have a basic Hamilton Beach that meets all of my needs.

We have always had 2 Nesco style cookers plus a basic crock pot. Last year our real Nesco finally kicked the bucket. I didn't hesitate t replace it with a similar looking but much cheaper brand ( big box stores all sell some version from on Oct to Jan every year and they all work about the same).

Thank you all so much for your valuable input to help me find a good crock pot. Lots of good choices here. I have my usual researching homework ahead of me. Currently, I am looking at the Cuisinart or maybe getting another Nesco. We shall see.
Again, thanks and blessings to you all.

@Bella8888 I wouldn't get another Nesco. I too had. Wonderful Nesco for 25 year before biting dust. It was the older one, with porcelain inside. The new ones are junk, coukdnt cook a turkey for squat I had been cooking turkeys in Nesco forever, new ones are light weight shells. Just a tub with electric coil on bottom, no even cooking. I was so disappointed. My friend, and my daughter found the same thing. We donated to church to warm food in

Thanks for the heads up about getting another Nesco.
We live in a disposable society these days, "Nothing is made like it used to be", as they say.

I made yogurt a couple of times in my InstaPot. It was good but I was making it for my dogs.

I don't have a Cuisinart crock pot but I'm a big fan of the company. I have many Cuisinart kitchen appliances. Have a Nesco cooker as well. Rarely use it but it's a great thing to have when you need it.

I just recently pulled out my old (was a wedding present) crockpot that had been way back in my cabinet. It was one with the stone crock wear.
My daughter had picked out one for me many years ago for a Christmas present. It cooked fairly well, and had the removable insert. The base was aluminum.
Then I purchased one here from Q that was a combination pressure/slow cooker. It never looked like it was even at a good cooking temp when I slow cooked.
So, when I used my old faithful for the first time again, I cooked the most delectable chuck roast! My husband and I couldn't believe how moist, tender and flavorful it was cooked in this one. I will use my old crock pot for as long as I can.

Thanks for the additional input.
This Nesco cooker was the best for beef, pork or chicken roasting. Everything came out perfectly. We replaced the cord twice and now it is again fraying. The last two times we used it there were problems - once it cooked too hot and once the temperature was not hot enough.
After looking online, I actually think this might have been 1948 wedding present for my parents. I remember cooking with it as a kid and it was beat up then, cord replaced, etc. The inside has a ceramic pot that sits down inside the electrical part of the pot, the outside is aged-yellow ceramic, the handles are also ceramic I think. The top and rest of the pot is metal.
🌹It needs a ceremony to honor its place in history. I'm keeping it for sentimental reasons but not using it for safety reasons.
Anyhow, I'm leaning towards the Cuisinart slow cooker. I usually sit with decisions for awhile, and I have to expect that a new appliance is not going to last like this one my dear departed mother used.

This sounds like a Nesco. Was it?
