Noel, that was his first wife, wasn't it?  I think she was also a cousin.

What a terrible injustice.  I bet she is one of many wives who have contributed to the work of great men and received no credit.

@golding76

You jogged my memory.  I’m pretty sure it was his first wife and I definitely remember she was his cousin!

no that's wrong, His first wife was a Serbian woman he met at university studying to be a physicist who gave him his children. His 2nd wife was his cousin and not a physicist.

Thank you for the refresher, PinkSunset.  I was reaching waaay back to the days when my sons were in grade school and were reading about Einstein.

Glad you remembered this accurately.

By the by, the word "stationery" is misspelled in this article.  It is spelled "stationary." An easy way to remember which spelling should be used for anything involving letter-writing or writing paraphernalia is this: The word "letter" has two "e's" in it, so use the "stationery" with the "e."

@golding76

My post is a bit off-topic, but thanks for the instructive note.  Reminds me of a brilliant instructor of mine (Biology and Anatomy & Physiology) who just could not spell "separate."

One day I pulled him aside and whispered:

"Remember: There is a rat in separate."

He never made the error again.

How about "there's an 'a' before the 'rat' in 'separate"?

I just always remember to look for a rat hiding in the word.
