Well, I love ketchup on egg.  I never tried tomato sauce but I'd be willing to.

Shakshuka has it's origins in the 16th century in Ottoman Empire when tomatoes were introduced. It has been a common dish in North Africa as well as the Middle East and Mediterranean for centuries. It's not the invention of any current chefs.

Sounds like you know about the past.  Great.  post more about these things!

Sounds Delicious!  Years ago, I also put ketchup on my eggs and then did salsa.  Now I just use hot sauce on my them.

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, but Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

Has anyone ever made this? It looks strange, the combo of eggs and tomato sauce sounds odd. People that make it on Food Network seem to love it though.

I've never made this and I don't know anyone who ever has, in fact I never heard of it until I saw it on FN.

Have you ever made this, and if so, did you like it? Is it a breakfast dish?

My husband has eaten hard boiled eggs in spaghetti sauce since he was a child.

Yes, I've noticed that "trend" too, and I always think and worry about this:

Some people prefer to consume raw or undercooked eggs. However, the FDA estimates that about 79,000 people develop foodborne illnesses, and 30 people die each year due to eating eggs contaminated with Salmonella.
