Now that "Mega-Buck's" coffee chain is offering this seasonal latte again, I am trying to avoid going broke buying it from them, but don't want to dig out the espresso machine, either, so I had an inspiration this weekend, and the results were good enough for me, so I figured I'd pass it along to other coffee lovers. I bought some good quality eggnog in the dairy section and a package of "Mega-Buck's" instant coffee packets in Italian Roast, and this morning I heated the eggnog in the microwave, stirred in the little tube of superfine ground instant, and voila, eggnog latte, albeit without the foam. I didn't have time to sprinkle it with nutmeg, but I suspect that would have made it perfect. I also suspect that any other dark roast instant coffee would work fine, too. If you try it, I hope you like it!
