Not a thing happened where I am. A real non-event just as I thought it would be.

Please post your pic for us to see -- it was only a "shade of gray" here in the northeast. @fourpaws56

Darker, yes, but not 100% totally, and completely pitch black midnight dark.
@Plaid Pants2 - it got pitch black in Wyoming on TV - pitch black!
But it didn't get as dark as it does at midnight or at two o'clock in the morning.

I did! DS is studying science, so he's really interested. He took lots of pictures. It was cloudy, but we had about 75%. It never got completely dark, but it was weird how still everything was, and still is. Around here - no cars, no kids outside, just really, really quiet. The kitties slept through it!
What amazed me was how fast the sun/moon was moving. It was like it was racing through the skies. ![]()

I was volunteering at the local food bank this morning. My goal for today was to get to and from the food bank, stop at grocery store and library without blinding myself! A couple of other volunteers brought in eclipse glasses and it was amazing.

I was able to see it we we're in a 70% zone, I walked across the street to our lake and friends there had the glasses, it was really cool to see the sun almost oblitereated

It darkened and cooled a bit. No glasses here so I didn't look.
On numerous threads posters have been talking about making sure all pets were inside.
This morning I heard need not worry. Animals do not look up at the sun.

There was no perceptible change in lighting conditions here in South Florida. I didn't have the glasses, and couldn't look, but I did set up my camera. Only one shot captured the eclipse... I needed the clouds! All the other shots showed a full orb for the sun. I'll get a filter if I ever have the opportunity to see another eclipse.
