My DH and I have noticed no matter where we are, restaurants are always packed before, during and after mealtime. We eat out occasionally but are always mindful of the prices.....especially my DH! He says nobody eats at home anymore. Lol. I feel cheap ordering water instead of paying at least $2.50 for iced tea like my friends do, but really? DH has a couple of relatives that are always bemoaning have no money, yet eat out practically every meal. We just don't understand. Another sign of getting older, I guess. Thoughts?

We've been noticing that for quite some time now. My city has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country and restaurants here always seem to be packed.

We eat out about once a week...once in awhile we eat out 2x...one being lunch. Yes we know some people who complain about not having any money yet eat out more then eat at home.

Many people I know seldom cook. I love to cook. My DH and I liked to eat out but I still cooked at home a lot and enjoyed it and was able to eat healthier not to mention saving money.

We only eat out a few times a month....because when we do, we spend a lot of money. Might be all the drinking we do.....{#emotions_dlg.blush}

Plus....I'm a really, really good cook. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

A couple I know is always kvetching that they will never be able to retire but they literally eat out twice a day and not in inexpensive restaurants.

Yeah my DH says my food is better then most of the restaurants. But the restaurants clean up afterwards.

We eat out for Mexican and Chinese cuisines, usually at lunchtime. Otherwise, my husband prefers my cooking. In my area, restaurants appear to be busier during the dinner hours.

I've noticed that. I've been eating out an average of once a week lately. I think the weather hasn't helped. It's usually like twice a week.

We eat out often probably 3 to 6 times a week between lunch and dinner. I would guess we spend a couple of hundred or more a week. I always order water and it isn't because I am cheap, it is because soda is bad for you. Most people I know get water (well if they aren't getting a cocktail). We both work a lot and don't always want to have to cook.

On the weekends where I live there is almost always an hour wait if you can't get a reservation. We stick to the places that allow reservations and the places that have the types of foods we like. We like whole foods and that takes a lot of restaurants off of our list.
