Just check to make sure it doesn't have MSG.That can make for a very bad party if it does. We have a Magic Wok near us and NO Msg in anything. I Might do that for Thanks -Giving, or Christmas for us. Thank-You for the Great Idea!!It's just the 2 of us.

EDITED TO ADD: This recipe is a rough guide: Use only the fruits you like, all brown sugar, etc. Make it your own! This is close to the recipe I use and can't find! I make it in the crock pot rather than the oven. I add canned plums because it makes it pretty, I also sprinkle in a tiny bit of cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg (fresh ground is best), and sometimes cut down on the brown sugar, or even put in a little maple syrup because some of the versions have a LOT of brown sugar. But you get the idea. There tons of recipes close to this one. My old one came from a Southern Living recipe.
The bonus is you make it long before the guests arrive and turn on the crock pot and the HOUSE smells fabulous!!!!

we use strawberry jam and bbq sauce. it is great for small bite sized hot dogs, chicken bites, or meatballs.
also great......equal parts brown sugar, ketchup, and bourbon.

@nana59 wrote:Help! I'm hosting Christmas for 12. The past two years I have ordered Italian dishes from a great restaurant....but I'm tired of that menu. Any suggestions for an easy buffet? My arthritis gets in the way of doing anything that requires too much preparation. Thank you....
If the Italian selections were a hit with your guests, I'd stick with it. Tried and true dishes become a tradition guests look forward to.
A spiral ham would be a nice addition.
I agree-people like it-it's easy for you=tradition-order Italian

If your guests like chinese food, you can order an assortment of chinese food and request that each guest bring a dessert. You can order platters if party sandwiches from a local deli and also order the salads. All you need to do is furnish the chips.
