Re: Earthquake in Philadelphia area?

I work from home NYC outer boros and was looking at my backyard from the dining room and felt and heard my house shaking!!

Reminded of the earthquake that happened years ago when I was at work in Manhattan.

This is scary to put it mildly.

4.8 Magnitude isn't a 'small' earthquake.

I believe each point (or whatever it's called) is magnified to a much higher level.

I obviously don't exactly recall the correct info, etc.

Sending wishes for good luck / safety to all.

Re: Earthquake in Philadelphia area?

Nice to have this thread, especially for folks who have specific feelings and concerns which they wish to share with others here.

It's always nice to talk and share..........much better than to feel 'all alone' when something  unusual happens.

We are 'all together' here.

Re: Earthquake in Philadelphia area?

Several adjacent multifamily homes in Newark, New Jersey shifted and have been declared uninhabitable for now, pending further examination.  Over 20 families impacted.

So very, very unusual and meaningful for many in this region.

I live in Westchester County NY, I felt the ground shake and heard the rumbling noise. I thought it was trucks driving through the neighborhood, it was unnerving.

@THEY CallMe Mr Wilkes ...I was thinking about this and how, regardless of size, if there was any movement whatsoever, it could affect the foundation of a home and building and its stability, among many other things even though it may appear that all is okay.

We just felt an aftershock

Apparently there have been four or more aftershocks,   but just now is the first one I felt. Central NJ
