Re: Earthquake in California

Sounds like for some folks it'll rattle your fillings and fill your shorts...

I've experienced a hurricane and came close to a tornado, but never an earthquake...yet.

Stay safe folks.

Re: Earthquake in California

Hoping there were no injuries or damage.  We're just south of SF on the Peninsula and didn't feel it here.

Re: Earthquake in California

I felt a 5.7 roller in Oklahoma that made us both seasick.  It seemed to go on for a LONG time, and it made a loud noise.  It was scary.  I don't care to do that again!

Be safe all of you who are in the area!  Hang on!

I've experienced many earthquakes but this one was the weirdest. It started very slowly I thought why am I feeling dizzy, but then I saw everything rolling.
5.9 near Nevada/ California border, 4.8 in Stockton and many more small ones, from what I'm hearing all of Northern California felt it 😳

@Grand Happy  Do any of the local seismologists in your area give any possible predictions...say for the next few days, week or so on what to possibly expect?

Have any of them said what made this earthquake different since this one seemed different/odd to you?

Stay safe...saying prayers for all Smiley Happy

Re: Earthquake in California

Susan Louise, yes I believe it felt different because I now take a anti seizure medication, I actually thought I was having a seizure because the way it started so slowly, rolling side to side. I Thank God I was sitting down, I still feel off šŸ˜•
I need to be very careful because I can't fall 😳😢

5.9 is a large quake, but not everybody in Northern California felt it.

I, who lives close to the Oregon border didn't feel it.

I hope that there wasn't any damage to property.

I just saw that you live in Northern CA, but close to Oregon border - are you off of I-5 or more on the Coast? My younger brother lives in Shasta Lake?

Back in 2017 I came out to visit at Thanksgiving time and we drove up I-5 into Oregon up near Crater Lake; then over to Grants Pass and over to the Coast; back into CA; down to Eureka then took 299 back to Redding, CA.

@debfau

I live on the coast, where the redwoods are.

@Anonymous032819

We stopped in Crescent City to take pictures of the coast when we travelled through the area, then stayed in Eureka for the night. Very nice area along the Coast.

Re: Earthquake in California

I'll never forget April of 1992 when we had a 7.1 earthquake, followed by TWO 6.0 earthquakes in the middle of the night!

That scared the blank out of me!

Re: Earthquake in California

Susan Louise, I don't believe they can yet predict before an earthquake is going to hit.
On the Bay area news this morning they were talking about Tsunami's around San Francisco 😳
