Holidays will be over. Things will start returning to normal. The morning and daily news shows I watch will be live and not on tape or reruns of Dateline. Mail will be delivered. Banks will be open. No Christmas shopping to do. No decorations to take down. I feel somewhat renewed.

January 2nd is my favorite day of the year.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I second your post 1,000 times!!  I woke up this AM remarking (to myself) that since Thanksgiving (probably before) the normal flow of my routines (including the TV shows I depend on for my info and entertainment) were continually interrupted by the "Holidays" and now the "Holidays" are OVER !!  There are other holiday hiatuses during the year but NONE with the longevity of the Holidays that conclude today!!  I'M READY!!

DH would rather it stay the Holidays. He's been off since the 20th & goes back to work on the 6th.

Last few times he took vacation days he called in the following Mon & told them he was taking off another day. LOL!!!

@deepwaterdotter - I am all about routine and don't like disruptions to it.

@gidgetgh I'm still trying to get past the sadness I feel. I hope things get better as I move on to January 2 (I hate the Winter and that's not helping).

I like the holidays, and I'm reluctant to let them go. I really appreciate the break in the usual routine.
