The artist Elie Nadelman, standing amid a studio class, about 1915.
Creator of such fanciful sculptural images, delicate yet suggestive of muscular power. I love this horse!
Witty dancer, executed in painted cherry wood:
Man in top hat reminds me of a slimmer Churchill, at least determination-wise!
So sorry to know that Nadelman's life ended all too soon, and all too tragically abruptly. He had so much beauty to bring.

I admire all artistic endeavors and those who have such talent. These sculptures are very interesting and while I am not familiar with Nadelman, I find his work refreshing. Like many artists their lives are not always easy and struggles many. Sometimes fame comes after they pass and their work finally appreciated.
I love the horse piece too and I would like to see more of Nadelman's work. Thanks for the informative post, Oznell, it is always a positive to learn something new.
