Mexican prisons don't hold anyone if you have $$$$.
If they REALLY want him secure, he should be in an American high security prison, but that would never come to be.
Why not? We have charges against him too. The only way he will not be busted out again is if we (US) actualy hold him in one of our highest security federal prisons.
The US has offered to hold him in a disclosed location for them here, stateside. They refused.
It's a sad situation all around. I don't like or promote drug lords or the drugs, they handicapp people. Yet, those in Mexico support El Chapo because they say if it weren't for him, they would starve - he feeds the people when their own government and industry won't. Don't know what the truth is there but the drug situation is way out of hand. It has to be stopped.
Last I heard on the news that Mexico had said that they will extradite him to the US when he was caught. Now that he is caught, they still say they will extradite him so he can stand trial in the US for all his charges. I think they learned their lesson after this second escape.
El Chapo is a murdered and I will never feel it is okay for him to be free. I feel for the Mexican people that feel he is their only hope but the country needs to prosecute him and send him away for life and then fix their country once and fall. No Country should ever have to rely on a murderous drug lord for survival so the government needs to step up and reform the whole country.
Part of the reason so many in Mexico are starving is because the drug cartel rules everything and keeps people down, partly so they can continue to control everything. Remove them and you've won half the battle. Easier said then done though, I know but it should have never been allowed to get this far.
And El Chapo WANTS the people think he is the only one that will take care of them- that is part of the control means he uses and the plan in order to keep people from revolting against them. I am sure he prevents the government from being able to help the people (plus most of the government is corrupt too) so that he is upheld as the hero amoung the people and garners the "love" and respect of the people, like he appears to have. Plus they are also afraid to say anything bad about him because he controls everything and has murdered so many people. Again, the terror he instills in people keeps them from speaking up against him.
