We have no real knowledge of the relationship in the Bezos marriage, how it began or changed, who wanted to make a separation or divorce or if it might actually be a mutual decision -- this is intimate information only they know. Our assumptions aren't always accurate. Not every relationship works out well for either of the two involved, and sometimes they both feel happier moving forward separately. Schadenfreude is something that makes me uneasy. Wealth and fame bring positives and negatives, so the parties involved already have reaped rewards and also suffered the disadvantages. The public parts of how it's all sorted out will, of course, be splashed all over tabloids that we all too often choose to believe if we support the gossip and choose to denounce if we don't support it.😉

any statement from the Bezos couple will be carefully prepared. the financial health of Amazon the company and its employees and Amazon the stock is of utmost concern for both of them. so i would assume all statements will aim to protect that golden egg - his number one object of "affection."

By the way, I retract my original statement that Mr. Bezos's paramour is pretty. Now that I've seen more photos of her, my opinion has changed.
His wife is naturally lovely and, in my opinion, more attractive than Ms. Sanchez. It goes without saying that looks do not make a relationship, but I do not want it thought that I regarded Ms. Sanchez as a pretty woman. Worked on, harsh-looking? Yes.

There's just something icky about referring to a 54 year old man as a "naughty boy".

Kitty,
You might be right. I did not put much thought into the word selection. We will have to live with it now, I suppose.

Hahaha, well, I think we've all had to live with worse things.
Unless we were pursued by our own Icky Boy.

I heard on local news last night that if they split the wealth evenly his wife will become the wealthiest woman in America and Bill Gates will replace him as the wealthiest man.

This thing with Jeff Bezos and its "ick" factor in all respects (thank you, kitty), prompt me to write something that I've been thinking about for a long while.
My statement is going to be very brief and to the point. I think that the access men (I am focusing on men only right now) have to porn now has stirred up some appetites that they never knew they had until now. Or, they think they need to satisfy them in ways shown in porn.
No, I have not watched any lately, but from what I've seen as part of our culture's movies, TV and posted information/stories, I can well imagine the sort of "love" depicted. Many times a crazed rapist has been described in the news as having recently viewed porn.
This easy access to garbage that stokes ugly rather than loving action is part of the explanation for increased rapes and rough behavior toward women.
It also takes down powerful men who forget who they are.

DiAnne,
Bravo to Bill Gates for keeping up a strong and contented family, no matter how much money he has made.

Several years ago I worked part time in a very high end retirement community with a skilled nursing facility. It was full of wealthy people (doctors, lawyers, high ranking military, ministers, etc). One evening we had a patient admitted and he was having a fit because it was after hours for the IT department to hook up his personal computer and he would have to wait until morning. I could not figure this out until the physician on duty told me "these old retired guys spend a lot of time watching porn". I personally am more concerned about the easy access for children on their phones and computers.
