I bought a couple of items from a seller and this is the 1st time I had any problems. The items I received are covered in BLACK MILDEW! It is obvious that the seller has their supply of "stuff" probably in their basement they are getting rid of. AGH!!!!!
Last week I got something that also smelled musty...thank goodness after a few Febreze treatments, that item is ok, but I am now starting to get wary about getting anything from EBay!
So I don't know how best to handle this...do I take the route and click on the return item tab and write the seller and tell them I'm returning their mildew stuff, or should I write the seller asking what they want me to do? Will I get reimbursed for the cost of returning it?
I did take pics of what I received for my records...
Any advice is appreciated...TIA

I attached a pic of one of the items for the seller to see and told them that I didn't bother opening up the 2nd one...didn't think it was necessary. I hope they don't want me to pay to return them, or they would want them back...hoping I can just toss them in the trash.
Well, some folks save everything...
...reminds me of all the hoarder shows I watched.

I agree with the other replies. Sellers would prefer that you contact them and give them a chance to rectify the problem before leaving them negative feedback. It looks as if the seller did not inspect the items before shipping them. It's possible that the mold issue is very recent.
Good luck.

Hi Topaz,
I haven't left feedback yet and did send a message with a pic showing one of the two I opened covered in black mold. I didn't bother opening the other one since it has the same stong musty odor, so with high assumption, it also has the same issue.
Crossing my fingers things will go smooth and they appreciate the way I am trying to handle it. Some folks can be funny though...
I'm still scratching my head as to HOW the seller didn't bother to check the individually bagged items just based on the strong musty odor alone. Most (not all) times it's due to mold...SMH
thanks for the luck

OMG! I just read the negative reviews...others have gotten mildew stuff too and the seller is totally in denial...replies to buyers they are rude!
Looks like I'm out lots of money...don't know how EBay buyer's protection works...why those folks didn't get their money back.
I'm thinking I've just lost a lot of money
I guess when I saw the seller's rating at about 99% with nearly 12,000 items sold, I didn't bother reading reviews...
Lesson learned...the HARD way!

No..wait to get a response... If it is negative (nasty response) just open a case...
I have been a VERY HAPPY buyer for years...
Next time, read the reviews FIRST! HTH!

Contact the seller and if the problem isn't resolved, click on eBay resolution center. Don't make assumptions about getting your money back. eBay works very with buyers.
