@cheriere, Womderful to see someone who loves nature. So many here do.
DH and I love animals, and have a special fondness for birds.
We have five feeders on our deck all winter long. Feed them and they will come, so many species. We can only feed the
birds from late fall to early spring, a town ordinance, as we have a large population of bears here. We have two large refuge areas nearby, and bears can smell food a mile away.
We were finally able to attract bluebirds to our yard. First time in many decades. The answer is a very specific birdhouse that they like, a very simple design. Amazing.
We do have birdhouses on high poles in our yard. To keep critters away, we pour some wolf urine around the base. It does work, as so many critters are frightened of wolves.
Where do we buy wolf urine? Amazon, of course.
@foxywoods wrote:@cheriere i don't have an app! i see birds in my yard and usually look on eBird. then read up on their habitat, songs, food they like. i also look at Rare Bird Alerts. lots of birdwatchers post photos and record their songs.
i have seen Eastern Bluebirds in the wild, not at feeders, at least in my area. i had an Indigo Bunting at my bird feeder once for a few days.
i wish i could hear a Whip-poor-will again. where was raised, we had them all around us as kids and they drove us crazy wth their calls, as we tried to sleep. i haven't heard them in years. sad their habitat got destroyed. too much land development drove them away.

I'm so glad you like the pictures. Thank you so much.😃❤️
I also really appreciate that you're a nature lover as well. It sounds as though you live in an area with a bit more wildlife than me though. We only have a few bears lol.
But, I'm so glad you've been able to attract the bluebirds back to your yard. I too am hoping to get some bird feeders. I've been reading a lot about the different types of birdseed and feed to buy for my area. I was surprised by how very different the different species actually eat.😃
Again, thank you for everything.❤️. I appreciate everything you said.

We are on our 2nd brood this year. I see the mama poking her head out every day. She is either sitting on eggs, or newborns- They are a good luck charm!

Wow, already on your second brood! I sure hope mine have more this season too.😃❤️
Thank you for visiting my post. I really appreciate you.❤️❤️❤️

Your patience paid off @cheriere! That's a beautiful bird! I love the last picture where you can see all the trees. Here in Indiana it is flat with farm land. We have a lot of corn fields! Lol

@cheriere Bluebirds make for an entertaining hobby to watch. I love the sounds of their vocals and appear to be so colorful in nature.

I didn't know just how colorful they really were either until I started watching them. You're right about their songs too, just lovely to hear.
Thank you for visiting my bluebird post.😃❤️
