The tragedy of noise induced hearing loss, at least for now, is that there is no way to get your hearing back.
When I go to any sporting event or movie or wedding or (God forbid) so called MUSIC event, I have to wear hearing protection because the volume level is ALWAYS intolerable for me.
GUESS WHY? Almost ALL people in this country ALREADY have hearing loss from noise exposure, but since I always had very acute hearing, I've ALWAYS had to protect it. SO- sound has become more and more intolerably LOUD in order to compensate for the loss almost everyone already has!
Since super amplified music has become popular, hearing loss has gradually increased to the point of ludicrousness. I've actually wondered at sme events if there is a secondary sense of stimulation from the constant vibration- something vaguely. Smutty so I won't continue.
And another mess- parents who don't protect there own hearing exposing tiny infans to intolerablely loud sounds because a tiny infant has no way to protest.
Yuck.
