E-Mail From My Bank Re Mail Delays

[ Edited ]

In a nutshell, saying they know the USPS is experiencing backups therefore bank statements, tax info and other "stuff" might be delayed and advising getting needed info on-line. I had a feeling this was why I had not received one of my monthly account statements yet. This is Bank of America I'm talking about.

Same here but I wonder if it's because I get everything by email from them.

Maybe they're just emailing people who get paper statements (?).

Re: E-Mail From My Bank Re Mail Delays

My cc is through BOA.  My statements have always arrived on time through snail mail.  I assume my checks are received on time through snail mail as I never received a late payment notice.  I never "bank" online & it's in my records for them to snail mail me.  They do not have my email addy.

Re: E-Mail From My Bank Re Mail Delays

I just received the bill for my car insurance that is due in 2 days. I paid that by phone . My bank statement was 10 days late. Have canceled one magazine because I hadn't gotten it since end of Nov. Just got a different magazine dated Nov. 28. Will have to pay home owners insurance on phone. That's due next week and haven't gotten bill. Same with credit card. And the list goes on. That's just for this month. Last month wasn't much better.

@shaggygirl  I got that email today also from BOA. I considered it just another pitch to get me to use their app or get my credit card statement electronically rather than by paper (which were suggested in the email).  As if I didn't already know the mail is slower lately. 🙄

Late DH and I have done online banking for ages and get all statements online. I can print them out in PDF format. Safer than waiting for the mail.

Do you do all your banking and bill paying on-line from there? If so maybe that's why. I have 3 accounts and a BoA CC there and all account statements come via regular mail. I do go to my accounts on-line to see if checks cleared, auto deposits have been made and transfer money between accounts. But I like getting paper statements for a couple of reasons.

Re: E-Mail From My Bank Re Mail Delays

I work for a bank and I would be very cautious about anything being sent out with regard to accounts.  Banks will never call you and ask for your account information.  Always call back and talk to Customer Service to validate that they actually sent notice when in doubt.  Fraud is through the roof.  I have Bank of America and I have not received that notice.  (do not work for B of A)
