Dysfunction is glorified today

When I was a child we watched on TV:

Healthy family unit oriented sitcoms, clean stand-up comics, star studded variety shows, great movies, national geographic and so-called learning channels that you actually learned something from. Cartoons were actually funny and not almost violent.

Today, what is considered entertainment is way out of whack. That is part of the problem with society today, not the whole problem, but part. Networks would rather make millions on reality TV showing pregnant teens, rich, uncouth fighting housewives and Honey BooBoo and her openly flatulent mother. Far too much trash TV to list here. Nothing is sacred anymore, period.

The learning channel, indeed. Ugh. Do we really have to wonder why things are so screwed up?
