Re: During these dark days we have to remember

Zitawins post made me realize something.  I was in the original polio vaccine trial.  If I hadn't been I might have contracted the virus before someone else was saved by being in the trial.  I'm guessing this was early 50's without looking it up.

Re: During these dark days we have to remember

Life went on as normal with SARS and H1N1. There was no social distancing, no quarantining at home.

That's  the difference between those illnesses and Covid.

Yes."This too shall pass."

My mother said that often. And, it does. 4 year survivor this month.

Another poster mentioned Anne Frank in another post.

I think we can deal with these  inconveniences for several more weeks.

Re: During these dark days we have to remember

@ItsME It's not too personal; I am happy to share. I couldn't take Keytruda -- made me deathly (lol) ill. I stuck with surgery and three rounds of chemo. A very long summer, believe me.

But -- it's been four years now with no special meds. Every day is a gift!

Re: During these dark days we have to remember

@zitawins That's amazing!  Thank you for sharing,  I was diagnosed... stage 4 ... in December.  It was caused by a mutation... I've always eaten healthy, got lots of exercise, and never smoked or lived with a smoker.  Go figure.  Mine is very advanced and caused serious problems/complications, and I needed extensive radiation before anything else could be done.

I'm taking a pill for it, (targeted therapy, not Keytruda) but they cut the dose in half because of side effects.  Don't know yet if it's working.  If not, I don't have many options.   (Surgery isn't an option). If yes, it will buy me a little time.  I'm hoping i get lucky.

Thanks again for sharing your story.  I wish you continued remission and good health.
