I hadn't heard of "Duck Donuts" but their website lists one near me  Seems to be a franchise operation.  I'm not much into donuts, but, when I am, a plain fried cake suits me fine.  Fried cakes can be had anywhere, even supermarkets, so I won't be stopping by Duck Donuts anytime soon. Smiley Sad

The thing about Duck Donuts that I think makes them appealing is when you get them freshly made, and they're still warm, they're quite tasty.  My preference is always Krispy Kreme - warm, cold, stale, week old...!

I would imagine once the Duck Donuts have cooled, they'll lose their appeal to me.  I'm about 20 minutes from one that opened this weekend (probably the one @CrazyKittyLvr2 is talking about as I'm in NE PA as well).  If I'm in the area shopping, I'll stop for one, but won't go out of my way to get one.  However, there is one set to open in the next couple of months that's located on my way to and from work.  That might be a bit more tempting - for an occasional fresh donut!

@AnnieBelle   The new one is at The Shoppes At Montage.  I haven't been there in probably 12 years and not going that far for a donut.

I read there is going to be one at some point near Wilkes Barre. Again too far for a donut.

So many shops have closed at Montage, it's becoming a ghost town.  Nothing like it was even a year ago!

The one in Wilkes-Barre will be on Mundy Street, across from the Wyoming Valley Mall (right in front of the new Hobby Lobby that is under construction).

I don't think they have any of these where I live....I like a plain cake donut with cinnamon sugar on it once in a while ...but not standing in line for it.

Re: Duck Donuts?

[ Edited ]

Tried a few months ago after hearing hype.  They were good donuts but not worth the price. I was disappointed that there was just one type of donut with different toppings.  A fresh Krispy Kreme  is my preference.

@AnnieBelle  I'm trying to picture Mundy St. the mall area. Haven't been in that neck of the woods in awhile.

When my husband was ill we were at Geisinger Wyoming Valley every week. Had to go past the exit to Mundy St.

I hate driving down there and also on 81 to go to Montage. It is like a race track.

I don't like Duck Donuts.  There's one across the street from Krispy Kreme, and I much prefer Krispy Kreme.  There's a Dunkin' Donuts about five minutes from my house, and I don't like it that much either.  I love Krispy Kreme.

@NickNack   Dunkin donuts around here are awful.

DD got home with some from Duck Donuts. She said the lines were not out the door but she still waiting 1/2 hour.  She brought home a half dozen. Took a bite of one, it's a donut. Not worth a 1/2 hr. wait or the $2 bucks a donut.

A fresh hot Krispy Kreme is still the best.

Tried Duck Donuts just once and they were just okay. Just wanted to see what all the hype was about. Krispy Kremes are my favorite. I have a weakness for the chocolate iced, cream filled ones. Oh my God.😋😋😋😋😋😋
