It had been some time since we had a cat, and came home from Lollypop Farm with our adorable Joey. He's our first male cat, and we've never had one so fussy about food (and that includes cats I had as a child).

I know that debate exists about wet/dry food, everyone has their preferences, and everyone's cat(s) lived years on either, but I favor wet food for cats. Joey, however, loves the kitty crack (Science Diet) he came home with (and he gets plenty of water) He does eat some canned food, but often turns up his nose at the same thing he liked before (all food is served at room temp).

Anyway, we've been pretty successful serving canned in the morning, and the dry for his late afternoon feeding. We did notice that the Science Diet has a lot of cornmeal, and would like something grain-free, if possible. Given the expense, I was happy to get a few samples at Petco the other day, and he likes the Natural Balance (I know Welllness is supposed to be good, too, but they had recall issues a few years back).

The bottom line for us is that he eats, so if it's dry food he wants most of the time, that's what he'll get. Cripes, I remember feeding our cats Puss N' Boots cat food, with Kitty Salmon thrown in on occasion and they loved it. It's a good thing this little guy is so cute.
