@Desertdidid you report the crash in your yard?

DH has a drone, but he can't fly it here.  We're in a no-fly zone since we're near the landing pattern for the local airport.  They seem to have changed their pattern; they used to fly right over our house.  If it was cloudy, it would sound like they were going to land in our living room.

There should be an FAA website or something that identifies no-fly zones. I haven't asked DH about it.

We also have a military installation and I've always enjoyed the flyovers, although for us it's mostly helicopters.  We used to get them more often too, but there was so many complaints they changed their pattern.  Hey, the military installation was here first and it provides a LOT of jobs in the area.

Gov. Phil Murphy to the FBI — continue to insist that there is no danger from the drones, but also claim they have no idea what the drones are.

Officials admitted the aircraft exhibit particularly sophisticated capabilities like becoming undetectable once a police drone or helicopter gives chase.

They also hover in one place for hours — far longer than the battery life of know civilian unmanned aircraft.

A Post reporter even witnessed one in person Wednesday, when an object the size of a Honda Fit with blinking white lights cruised by a gas station and headed toward Picatinny Arsenal – the US Army weapons research and manufacturing facility covering a swath of land in Wharton.

I do not believe someone in our government does not know exactly who what where and why.

I also can't believe that no one, at any level of government,  isn't able to track and trace where they land.

@Desertdi - I just got home after a long day. I talked to DD earlier, and she saw one over a field on the way home. She said it was high and it had red and green lights.

Re: Drones - December 2024

The latest is that there are specific instructions for firefighters regarding how to handle a downed drone. Clearly, there are anticipated dangers and hazards regardihng these drones requiring the assistance of a bomb squad and a hazardous materials response team and a warning that two-way radios and electronic devices near the drones may malfunction.

Doesn't sound like a non-threat to me. Someone called into NJ 101.5 FM radio to state that there were specific federal multi-billion dollar contracts for drones with unique capabilities and that these drones were to be delivered by year's end. How long would testing of such drones over our skies be needed? This has gone on since 11/18/24. If these nightly drone exercises continue for much longer, this shouild be a very major concern for everyone in our country, but especially for those people living in states where they are being seen.

There is nothing at all to joke about regarding these drones. This is a very real and very serious situation. Nothing is normal about it.
