Wow. What an irresponsible thing for a vendor to say. I hope qvc asks her to stop saying that.

She could have said," you hold the tablet in one hand, a burger in the other, and put your elbow on the steering wheel".
Might as well, eh? ![]()
One time I saw a guy driving a car with a plate of food balanced atop the steering wheel and dash, fork in one hand and knife in the other using his forearms to steer.
Needless to say, I got the heck away from that asap. This was before cell phones or I probably would have called it in. Not sure about the laws, however, that would apply to that hot mess.

It was the vendor. If you watch the video, it's near the end of the presentation. The host didn't even react to what the vendor said. She just continued on so maybe she wasn't fully listening - she may have been thinking about wrapping up the presentation.
@akaburtonfan, thanks. Yes, that's what I read in the OP, but a couple posters seemed to think that it was a caller. Just wanted to clear up any confusion.

The control room peeps and the host must have missed hearing the comment. I would have said: 'Oh, no'! Never do that; that would be very dangerous', etc., etc. 'Just be safe and enjoy your tablet at home and/or definitely not while driving in your cars, just when you are a passenger', etc., etc.

Ive seen people shaving, putting on makeup, etc all while driving. I think it's a problem nationwide especially among those under 30. They are addicted to technology.

I often travel up a 4 lane (two each way) highway where the speed limit is 55 miles per hour.
People wouldn't see the things I see with people driving on this road! Often they're in the left lane (passing lane) and going well UNDER the speed limit.
I've actually seen a small tablet in one hand and a cell phone in the other (I have no idea who's driving the car)....Oh! And in the left lane!
I've seen one person driving and another with his/her head down (Hummmm???).
Anyway, it's amazing to me the things people think are OK to do while driving.....It brings multi-tasking to a whole new level...
Dangerous? You betcha'!

They do say that some teens/adults are heavily addicted to their electronic 'gadgets'. They go into 'withdrawl' when the gadgets have been taken away (in research studies, etc.). Something addictive happens in the brain similar to addictive dr*gs, such as h*roine, etc. It really has become a problem now and will probably be even more of a problem later on in the future. Time will tell. Let's hope for the best.

During the holidays my husband and I observed a Mercedes sedan swerving a bit in front of us. I was a passenger so I had the better view. First the car would slow down to 40, then speed up to 60.. Then brake, and slow down again. Mercedes would crawl to right side of lane line, then speed up, slow down and swerve to left side of lane. I might add this is on the 101 in California, near Silicon Valley area! If you live around there, you know of which horror I speak.
We were behind the car, and could not pass for a while because of cars on both sides. I was thinking it was someone high, or drinking. Then I really got biased and was thinking it was a dementia patient, or a little kid with parents car. I was starting to get a bit scared. FINALLY we could pass to the left. I was wanting to know who this was, and trying to find pen and paper to write license down.. I was that concerned. As we passed this was what i saw, a woman about 45 yrs of age, signing what looked like contracts on her steering wheel!!!! I was so astounded I could not find pencil until we passed her. Yes, she had a pile of papers on her steering wheel. A pen in one hand. She signed a page and threw it on empty passenger seat, and went on to sign another page. In the time it took us to pass her, and for me to look behind and keep staring...I never saw her head look up to the road, not once! I am still fuming. I would have turned her in hands down. She nearly caused 2 accidents. What an idiot. Really.
next time I will have cell phone ready for video. If I had license number, or video...I would have gone to police.

@shoekitty Why DIDN'T you turn her in? Next time call 911 from your cell phone and give the plate number, car type, route number, and direction to the dispatcher. They don't need a video after the fact. They need the opportunity to stop the irresponsible driver before they injure or kill someone.
