I live in a very small town and no one dresses up for much of anything except for a wedding or funeral and some church services. Unfortunately, in my church, pretty much anything goes as far as dress and most people dress comfortably - jeans and sweat suit type outfits.
Last week, my daughter and I were in NYC and I felt like I was back home, at least as far as dressing is concerned. We didn't go to any posh restaurants or clubs, so maybe we would have seen something other than blue jeans there. But, we did go to a Broadway show and most people there looked like they were going to the movies. We also went to church at St. Patrick's Cathedral and the people there looked just like I see here at home.
Do people dress up for much of anything anymore? I wonder why I have these clothes in my closet.
