Some style of clothes are made for certain body types and certainly not all look good.

Style was not for Jane, but unfortunately she was working the Woman With Control Show and had very little choice.

I say kudos to those who have to do what they have to do for work sometimes, especially when not something they would wear outside of work.

Renee is tall and thin and clothes are more for those with that shape and also those who travel.  Just what I think.  I'm just not a fan of her brand.   I have other favorites for me.

It bothers me that people are expected to follow dictates about what they "can" and "can't" wear based on their physical appearance.  People should be able to wear what they want.  I am always impressed by those that wear things I may be afraid to wear because they may not "look right" on me.  Someone thought that would be a good dress for Jane.  I am pretty sure that after all these years, Jane does not have to wear anything that she does not want to wear.  Many, maybe even most, hosts don't wear every item of clothing, shoes, they present.

Your comments here remind me of a quote from a book I heard about this morning about women trying to make themselves small, trying not to be seen, not to stand out.

I think we should not be afraid to be seen.

Love to see strong women, even when I don't otherwise like them...

I understand your point, but you're comparing apples to oranges with that comment.  This isn't about "dictates".

YES, a woman can wear anything that she "wants".  With all her years on QVC, I'm guessing Jane can have access to any vendor's clothing if she wanted to wear it on air.  I'm sure she can get feedback from the many stylists and models, as well.

IMO, it's not about what anyone "wants".

Many of the comments here are speaking to how FLATTERING the dress wasn't ... and she could have made a much, much  better choice.  Obviously, you disagree.

Women are interested in looking attractive and part of that is selecting styles that flatter one's unique figure type.   When it comes to body types, we're all snowflakes, unique in our own way.  It's not always easy to get it right.

Even if I "wanted" to wear a voluminous yellow dress, I wouldn't if it didn't look good on me.   It's has to be about what looks good on me, not anyone's "dictates".

I think that dress is better suited to a taller more slim silhouette. Too much material.

I didn't think it was flattering on anyone and the fabric looked very very thin

Funny how people can all watch the same thing, yet see something different.

I find Renee's dresses to be comfortable. Jane looked, and repeatedly mentioned she was comfortable in it. I thought she looked fine in it.

Since the dress was being featured, do posters think she had input on whether the choice to wear it was her's?

I truly must be the ONLY one who heard JT say, I forget which show it was on, but she said she was wearing the REGULAR length in Renee's dress because they didn't have her size in the petite for her to wear.

Therein lies the reason for it not looking very flattering on her.

I heard Jane say there was no petite size for her to wear. The dress looked so voluminous to me. She was twirling around. Seemed happy enough.

Too much fabric for a petite woman! It's a lovely dress, but I'm 5'2" and I wouldn't be able to pull it off. I don't know if the petite size is petite all through the garment or just length.
