I never watch Dr Phil. I can't stand him and I think he is a quack. He is NOT a real doctor and needs to go.
i remember years ago when Brittany Spears was having a melt down and was in the hospital. He went to visit her, them came out and gave reporters the scoop on her. He violated HIPAA laws or don't they even apply to him as he is a fake doctor? She should haved sued him.
He s just another nutty TV personality who preys on people with problems.

He really DOES have a doctorate in PSYCHOLOGY, not a medical degree, but I think all parties probably were thinking they were benefitting from the HIPAA violation, and I definitely thought the same thing at the time.
It seems to me that he may have been relatively ethical during the old Oprah days, but the advantages of earning a buck off the misery of others overtook reason and ethics.

He uses them to wipe his hands or face... not blowing his nose
Old habits are hard to break!
My hubby too. He has oily skin and wipes the shine off his forehead with his hanky.

Sorry @sophiamarie that you came to ask a question and some decided to bash Dr. Phil rather than answer you.
I don't know why people don't have their own hanky or tissues. I'd think it would be easy enough to stuff one up one's sleeve, just in case they need it, but maybe there are security reasons that they can't have anything with them. Maybe it's old-fashioned, but I always see it as a gentlemanly gesture for Dr. Phil to offer a hanky. My DH has always carried one, but I think it's a dying habit among the younger generation.

LOL - Dr. Phil probably tells his guests to NOT use any of their own tissues because the ones he hands out are embroidered "Dr. Phil"....... They always manage to use them with his name showing. I think it's funny..... I always used to have a handy tucked under my sleeve when I worked. Everyone thought I had a cold when I was allergic to something in the office. I really think the guests are told to "not" pull out a tissue. It's a Dr. Phil thing.

So tired of him pushing the Dr. On Demand app that he created and then fails to tell everyone there is a fee for it. His catch phrases are so old . I used to like his show but not anymore. Pushing his weight loss book is kind of ironic.
I can't imagine why you think the app Dr. Phil and his son created would be free ? He doesn't mention it has a fee because he assumes you could figure that out ! It's an app you use with live medical physicians, etc., to assist you on the spot. Any app like that certainly would not be free, don't know why anyone would assume that.
These physicians are from all over the country depending your needs. Don't know any that work live for free.
Also, numerous times I have heard him mention that you buy the app.

I don't watch him either. I can't figure out what kind of people would want to come on TV and air their dirty laundry. No one I know would do that. Everyone seems to want their 15 minutes of fame.

**************************************************************************************************** That could also apply to all the Reality shows on TLC. I don't get why some are still being aired because they are so boring - eg: Sister Wives for one. I used to like to watch that one but now - ???.... I Do love The Little Couple even though I know they don't live like that every single day but their kids are adorable and they certainly are being brought up the right way. Nobody can dispute that. They are great parents and have been from the first minute they got those children.
