I believe she broke her leg in a car crash when she was aspiring to be a dancer. During her recuperation she decided to sing and discovered a talent she never knew she had. Such a great lady.

Maestral, if you are comfortable, and it is allowed, could you post a photo of the two? I always try for 'New Look-A-Likes!'

Doris had a long life.  I enjoyed so many of her movies with her singing.  Those were the days before violence and light porn in movies.  Rest is Peace, Doris.

I personally don't think I could get through one of those fluff and very outdated movies today, but that's no reflection on Doris Day.

We lost a national treasure. Her innate goodness came through on the screen.

She would also be a very welcomed visitor by those who have gone over the Rainbow Bridge.  She was a human, but she was humane.

I remember going to the Saturday matinee with my grandma to see her movies when I was in grade school. Of course as a teen she was not my cup of tea. Didn't she have a son who died young?

I remember  a Doris Day movie was the only non-religious movie the nuns ever showed us-I forget which one-maybe "It Happened to Jane".  lol
