Another star is shining in the sky and another angel is singing in Heaven. Rest In Peace Doris Day, you made the world a better place with your sweet voice.

I loved her movies and voice... and those gorgeous outfits she wore in 60's movies. I wanted to be Doris Day when I grew up. Sad she's passed, but very happy she was here.

Doris wore this on April 4, 1960 to the 32nd Academy Awards. She received her only nomination for 1959's "Pillow Talk".
The dress is borrowed from the studio where she was filming "Midnight Lace".
For those interested, TCM is having an all-day Doris Day Tribute on June 9th.

I LOVED her and her movies !!! A great, humble lady that made me laugh and wish for all those glorious things when I was a girl!!! RIP and thank you for being you!!!

I enjoyed her in most of her movies. I especially liked her performance in "Midnight Lace" and "The Man Who Knew Too Much." I remember my mom taking me to see "The Glass Bottom Boat." My mom adored her and we often watched her old films together.
May she RIP and sing with the angels.....

I remember in high school my mother said she would repaint and redo my bedroom. I said I wanted a pale yellow room that I had seen in a Doris Day movie.
So funny, I love having pale yellow for clothes and room colors. Yes, very Doris Day!
I've painted bedrooms what I call Doris Day blue. Just a happy color, not too loud, not a dusty blue, just a pretty blue---just like her.
I find her movies very calming.
Perfect to watch on a chilly rainy winter day!

I personally don't think I could get through one of those fluff and very outdated movies today, but that's no reflection on Doris Day.
I find her movies to still be entertaining, much better than they have out now.....I mean really look at the movie The Shape Of Water....a tribute to the Creature Of The Black Lagoon....and it in's an Academy Award for best picture....ROFL......Like super heroes because that's what's mostly shown in theatres nowadays....and how many versions of a Star Is Born do we need???? Even critics said Roma was one of the slowest and most boring movies ever!! These were Academy Award Nominees!!!!! (now Greenbook was a good movie, and I liked the music from Queen in Bohemian Rhapsody)--But I'll take a Doris Day movie any day over any of the current or "highly acclaimed" movies of today....

And that, @Spurt , is what makes the world go around. :-) We all have different tastes in film, literature, art, music, etc.
