I donate and might get the occasional request later but I'm not bombarded with them.

It is the holidays and everyone is looking for donations so I don't base my opinion on what happens at this time of year.

Once again, I'm reminded why I support the charity I do. Never any mailings, additional requests or overhead. They also regularly report on the myriad of ways the donations are helping around the world. =)

One of the charities I support is a small charity the person that organizes it receives no compensation, run by volunteers. She sends a thank you email, no money is spent on mailings and postage....everything goes to "the cause" she reports what they have accomplished thru emails as well

I made a donation to the T2T organization and now I have enough return labels to last a 100 lifetimes.

I just got another packet yesterday and decided to use the return envelope and tell them to take me off the mailing list.

I support our local charities in my city for the families living here and one nation wide charity every month for several decades now.  I get bombarded with other charities asking for assistance but only contribute to my usual.

Sometimes a charity will send a quarter or even a nickle to get me to send in money.  I just put the coin back into their return envelope to send to someone else.

I always save the notepads!

Many of them are extremely well done with name and address and I use them everyday for jotting and note taking.  Some of the pens are also quite nice.

What I don't need are the address labels,  as I rarely mail anything.

Me too, I have a stack of them right now on my desk at the office.  Some are seasonal and some just the charities logo.  Great for errands and grocery store lists, not to mention notes to myself for a to do list.  I

We don't get mailers from the organizations we support but we do get informative newsletters.

I'm disappointed with our local Boy Scouts.  Right before Thanksgiving there was a food drive.  They dropped off an empty grocery bag one weekend with a note asking for it to be filled and placed on the front porch for pickup the following Saturday.  I had two bags filled and placed on my porch before sunrise on pickup day.  No one ever came to collect it.  I left the bags there all day and even the next day.  I reached out via our community facebook page, asking for someone to come for it, and crickets.  Our community has a few blessing boxes placed around town so the groceries ended up in one of them.

I only do the food drive the USPS has every year and only with my mailman at my office, not at my home.  I know he is coming in for sure and take it where it needs to be at our main branch post office.

@JeanLouiseFinch I empathize. I had the same experience two years in a row with bothThe Boy Scouts and USPS. Lesson learned. I donate cash to vetted local food banks now.

I love Donor's Choose.  I pick local schools and feel as if I can make a difference with small donations.

Me too.  I'm on the list...I just hope that the needy get something.

I was giving to so many different charities and then suddenly I was getting many, many phone calls.  I never gave my number but it is easy for them to obtain it I guess.  I admittedly stopped giving to most because of this.  I gave a donation the other day and wrote on the submission - Do not call - if you do - I will not support you again! - I don't know if that will help, but I figured it was worth a shot!  I understand everybody needs help but honestly, it gets out of control. I am far from wealthy and I give what I can and when I can and I do not appreciare being badgered!
