If a U-Haul pulls up to deliver your packages this year.  I saw the post office and Fed Ex are renting U-Hauls to deliver because they have so many packages to deliver this year.  They also say don't be surprised if your packages don't arrive on time this year.  There has been an overabundance of online orders.

I have seen this, in past years, around the holidays.   I live in proximity of a relatively small city, so I imagine it's even more prevalent in a larger city.

I already saw this happening at the UPS store.....and also going to homes where I live dropping off boxes.

Nice reminder.

My husband works for UPS, and from Thanksgiving and through to the first of the year, they used leased trucks, because package volume is so high, they must take on additional drivers, trucks and routes.

Depending on where you live, you may see any brand of truck or no brand on it at all. Around here, unless a supervisor has to go on the road to help out, all UPS drivers will still be wearing their brown uniforms.

I can imagine some people would question or be alarmed seeing and unmarked or other brand truck pulling in, so thanks OP for bringing this up.

Our local FedEx hub used uhauls the last couple years.  I sent a package FedEx last week and they had 5 or 6 uhauls sitting in the parking lot.  My Christmas shopping is done, but I feel for those awaiting packages.

They have already said don't expect deliveries to be made in a timely manner no matter what your promised. Thanks for the heads up about the delivery vehicles.

UPS in my neck of the woods has been using leased trucks the past several years during holiday season. I always check to make sure driver is wearing the UPS uniform though. I have already wrapped all my packages and shipped a box last week via UPS. All my shopping has been done for weeks. Really don't know how people can wait until last minute, I'd be a nervous wreck.

This has been on our local news the last couple of days.  Considering how much doorstep theft goes on, it makes sense to get the word out.

Speaking of doorstep theft, did you hear about the man who decided to fight back by filling a box with his dog's droppings, then taped & labeled it & left it on his front porch?  Took 3 days for somebody to come along & steal it.  Got it all on his security camera.  Now that's what I call Karma!Woman LOL

p.s.  they caught the thieves

They also said, if the U-Hauls show up to pick up packages to be mailed, you should ask for ID because many of the trucks won't have any ID on them.  Make sure you're not handing your packages off to a thief!
