I was at the beach the other day and in the ocean about halfway up my legs. I'm not a good swimmer so I don't venture out much further than that. A big wave suddenly appeared and knocked me down, and I had a hard time getting up and back to shore....the water was so powerful, it seemed to be pulling me away! Finally got back to the beach, but let me tell you, that was scary. I read about a Hawaiian saying that translates to "don't turn your back on the ocean" because it can turn in a moment. Living in NYC, I read about someone who's drowned or seriously hurt almost every weekend during the summer. I've learned to respect the ocean! Anyone else ever had a close call at the beach?
