I am still mad at Colonel Parker for not allowing Elvis to record Dolly's "I Will Always Love You."
He wanted Elvis to get a piece of publishing of any song he recorded and Dolly refused. Some song writers agreed to it just to have Elvis record one of their songs, but others didn't.
Mac Davis allowed it when Elvis recorded his In The Ghetto because he had Elvis's upbringing in mind when he wrote the song, which Elvis turned into a chart topper in 1969.
Dolly has gone on "record" saying she wished Elvis had recorded that particular song, but she was adamant about not giving up any part of publishing.
One smart "dumb" blonde~~~![]()

From what I read was the reason she was kind of hanging on is due to the hoist malfunction and they had to set Ms Dolly on a different platform. Which is not really safe, but we all know Ms Dolly... she makes things work.

Standing before a crowd of people half dressed is very inappropriate. A women at any age that wants to be called a lady would not go before a crowd of people half dressed.
That is your opinion..

@Monday 3 The huge log in your eye must really hurt.🙄
Let it be. She is not hurting you.
That's McCartney's line and he sang on Dolly's new cover of the song. Ringo plays the drums. Really.
@Pearlee We all know the song and I hate to break this to you but he did not create that phrase.
It dates back to the 12th Century in the Oxford English Dictionary.
Again in a poem by Chaucer and again in Goethe’s Faust.
Just a bit of English language trivia which had been discussed when the song was released.
Have a nice evening.

I must admit to being quite shocked in a GOOD way when I first viewed the show; I LOVED it😁 I would not have had the nerve to pull that off during my body CONFIDENT teenage years, so now is simply OUT of the question! I would not want to be responsible for a mass blinding of my fellow citizens.🥰
For the beautiful Ms. Dolly to do this at her advanced age tells me that she LOVES herself❤, is still comfortable with her femininity, refuses to be defined by societal expectations, and does NOT care what ANYONE thinks about it-nor should she!!😁
If I had her financial resources, I would snip, tuck, fluff, buff, flip, flop, twist, tweeze, slice and dice until my heart was content!!!😁 There is absolutely nothing wrong with splashing a few coats of fresh paint on an aging barn to spruce it up a little!👍 She has entertained us with her charm and talent for a million years and so DESERVES the beautiful life she has!😊
~~~All we need is LOVE💖
Dolly is such a kind and giving soul. She's physically fit and energetic too! You have to be pretty miserable to hate on Dolly Parton.
