Doll People I need some information please

I got the carolers set from Valerie Parr Hill. I love them and want to keep them nice and hand them down, they are that special. I don't know if they're porcelain and the website doesn't say. If they are resin they have me fooled. So anyway, what I wanted to know was, should I keep each one in their plastic bag as was sent? I thought I read somewhere porcelain (if they are) has to breathe. And so do dolls! I hate putting them in those bags but I will if it will keep them better. Any advice would really help. I haven't a clue about dolls.
