Re: Dogs in the grocery store

Other than service dogs, I'm not a fan at all of animals in stores, banks, restaurants, etc.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

for some their pets are the only children they will ever have.

But animals aren't children.  I'm sorry, I love animals, saw my dad cry twice and once was when the dog died, and appreciate how much they are to your life if you love them.  But bottom line, they aren't children.  As much as you might love them and think of them as family, they are not children.

And thre are places where children don't belong either. Lots of places.  It is a matter of what is appropriate.

Very well put.  I agree.

In my little beach town service dogs wear the identifying service dog vests and I have seen the handlers wear their identification on a cord.....simple.

Because they can be just as gross as any animal?

Oh, wait.......then we'd have to add the gross grown ups.

n/m

Ask any schoolteacher about the grossness and it isnt confined to the little ones. I've had to send teens back into the loo to wash hands after using the bathroom.

I always bathed thoroughly after school each evening and clothing was laundered.

I love animals, especially cats and dogs, but there is a world of difference between pets and children.

I totally get the emotional attachment with a pet, I've always felt it with mine.

It is so sad to have such angry words for pets and children.

But he doesn't want to go to the grocery store with me.  He told me he's bored there.

no anger here, just a daily reality. I love children and feel both proud and thankful for the positive influences and interactions I've had with so many of them.

Re: Dogs in the grocery store

So, do people who think dogs should be banned from grocery stores have dogs in their homes?

Or are they banned there too?
